The World Masters Games are usually held every four years and have attracted as many as 24,000 athletes from all over the globe. Fifteen "core" sports are offered and the host country may offer 10 or more additional sports. Minimum age requirements vary with the sport, but range from 25 (for swimming) to 35. No qualifying standards are required for any sport. The 2013 Games took place in Turin, Italy and the 2017 Games are scheduled to be held in Auckland, New Zealand and the 2021 Games in Kansai, Japan.
